Ganderbal, Jul 22 (KNO): In a bid to ensure the safety of people, the authorities here have announced new safety measures at Barwalla waterfall on Monday.
Pertinently, two persons were seen struggling with the sudden surge of water in the escape channel at Barwalla waterfall.
The incident, which gained significant attention on social media and other media platforms, has raised concerns among locals and tourists about the safety of the area.
To prevent such occurrences in the future and ensure the safety of visitors and residents, the Assistant Executive Engineer of USHP-II Kangan has been directed to install special sirens at the Barwalla Waterfall, specifically at the tail end of the escape channel.
These sirens are intended to provide timely alerts about any sudden increases in water flow or other hazardous conditions, the officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
The decision aims to enhance public safety and alleviate the anxieties of the general population, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the natural beauty of Barwalla Waterfall without fear, they said and urged all visitors to heed the warnings and stay vigilant in the area—(KNO)
